power trim omc i/o 79 gt/gm

ok new to boating but mechanically inclined so please just some help pointing me in the right direction.
I have a 79 glastron glassmaster i just bought .It runs a 200omc eng and 800 omc sterndrive .The boat will start,and the tilt up and down works ,but the power trim does not,not on the dash or accelerator control lever.all it does is clicks. I ordered the two solenoids,as well as the electric motor i assume is the power trim motor.correct me am i wrong? are the tilt up/dn motor and the trim motors different?
the tilt up/dn is located towards the rear by the lower end/and the trim motor is in front and operates some kind of pump that turns a threaded rod that raises and lowers the front of engine...is that the trim?
This is my first big boat with i/o motor.
thing is pristine and in very good condition.was going over all controls before i took it out to the lake for a maiden test run...now waiting for parts...solenoid's as well as the elec motor in question as i jumped from batt tothe wires comingd from that motor to the solenoids and no action.
trouble shooting guide for this machine? no manual
thanks ppl happy boating... oh yeah i give up cig's for this boat and it's been two days and new boat has issues and i'm frustrated

Yes, that motor on the front is for trim. I think you're on the right track with the solenoids. Also make sure you have a good charge on your battery & check all your wire connections. Hopefully the inside of the gearbox that the trim motor attaches to is in good condition and the bearings/seals are in good shape. There should be a zerks fitting on the gearbox that you can pump some grease into.

For what it's worth, the trim on the OMC Stringer drives is called SelecTrim. Good luck!

thanks super benk ...still waiting on parts though thought they would have gotten here today..hope tomorrow...will look at that gear box tomorrow after work when solenoids come in..saw the zerk will grease it.
