It is my first Twin Engine (Merc 4.3LX) Boat & I was wondering, when cruising,
Do you ever Trim One Stern Drive only when cruising?
Is there a need for this configuration .... beside having a defective drive?
I think Both Must be at the same Level?

while it is prefered to have both drives at the same level, if you have all the people to one side, you can compensate a bit with the drive trim along with the trim tabs.

also, depending on the sea conditions, you may choose to vary the port and starboard trim location.

what is the point of your question? are you trying to sync the drive trims between the two? do you want to do that with a single switch? if so, it wont work as simple as you think. there is always a slight difference between the port and starboard systems that even if you were to operate them both with a single switch input, one will always lead the other. one will always raise faster than the other. even if you operated from the same hydraulic pump and used a pressure compensated flow divider one system would always lead the other.

I have 1 trim button for each drive.
''what is the point of your question?''
I was just wondering if there was an advantage or situation were I would need to have my Stern Drives at a different level !
I know it is impossible to have both Drives at exact same level.
Thanks for your answer.
