power trim problem

Hi guys, I have a late 70's early 80's merc 115 "tower of power" and I just replaced the brushes in the power trim unit to find that after doing this the motor turns but doesn't pump any fluid. Before the brushes went bad it was working fine. Any ideas on what might have happened?

The end of the armature has a flat spot like a straight screwdriver. That must mate with the pump, to drive it. You might check it. I think the pump unit is free to move around inside the pump housing. You might check that out as well. Make sure it is lined up.
