Power Trim Problem

I read through tons of posts after a search but couldn't pin down what I should do. Mine is on a 17' Alumaweld with a 40 hp Tohatsu OB. It is stuck in the up position(I mean all the way up like a 90 degree angle) thanks to my 3 yr old son who was playing boat captain in the garage.) Now I can here a click when I move the switch up or down but nothing. IN the past I had to bang on a taped up box where several wires meet, when the thing would stop working( I assume there is a relay or fuses in there and it would start working and be fine) Could it be a relay or do these have a a solenoid ? (As you probably have figured I'm a rookie here) Thanks for any help in advance

Re: Power Trim Problem

You may have a limit switch activated. I'd get a manual, or call Tohatsu and ask about it and if it has one, ask how to deactivate/release it.
