I know there are diffrent type pumps etc.. but tank and cap should be the same Right??

Should it stop me from asking if "The part" is evan able to buy by itself sold for what pump I even have? I just need to know if this cap is able to buy by itself or if it even has a part number? So I'm asking can this cap be bought BY ITSELF?

Sorry Don, I just noticed my signature specs are no longer on my postings. Duh! I have the 3.0 merc engine, with a Alpha one Gen II drive. The boat is a 2008 Bayliner 175 BR. I don't have the model # from the pump. The cap is yellow and has the mecrury "M" logo on it, but just not sure with type pump, I'm guessing a merc. pump kit.

You need cap number 36-865448A01.

Check with your local Merc dealer.

Thanks Don! I notice between two part #'s listed one being "Standard" and the # you gave has a rough water application. Is there a design diffence between the two, I noticed my existing one has a filter screen under the cap with a seal, looks like for breathing purposes.
