Power trim sounds strained when underway

Hey everyone-

Today when out on the water and on plane I tried to trim the engine up and it made a "screaming" sound. I realize the pump is working against the full thrust of the prop, so is this normal? Or does it indicate a problem? If so, what should I be looking at?

Ayuh,..... Is there oil in it,..??

Did it go up,..??

Plenty of oil- reservoir filled right to the top. I'm not sure if it went up or not. Still troubleshooting the trim gauge : )

But I didn't leave my finger on the button long after hearing that awful noise...

The drive does go up and down freely when stationary though.
