Power trim tabs make boat turn hard right

Hello,
My boat has power trim tabs and when I'm up on plane and try to use them to put the bow down a little my boat hooks hard right. I don't know a lot about trim tabs so I had a friend with a lot more experience drive my boat and try to use them. Same problem, soon as you press the control for the bow down, the boat takes a right. My friend said he's never had or heard of anything like this and only thing he could think it that maybe the steering has some slop. Any ideas would be helpful.

They both function when on the trailer, also when I cut the throttle and reach into the water, they are both down. I think they are both working. Thanks for the response though

Sounds like a relay sticks causing the tabs to go full down.

Are they Bennett or lenco tabs?
