power trim/tilt system query early 80's

I have an early 80's power trim and tilt system on a merc 90. I have had to bleed the system following cylinder overhaul. There are two screws on the pump unit. I know the larger one is to fill the unit. There is a second smaller screw with a rubber washer on the top of the unit. What is this one for and should it be fully closed or open a couple of turns to let the air out?<br /><br />Thanks guys

If you have the same unit as I do (two rams one on eithor side of the motor, and oil reservouir in the boat) I think the screw you are rfering to is the vent screw and should be left open.
