Yesterday when I was putting the cover on my boat and pulling it over the console it snagged the control lever(not hard) the motor trimmed up. I hit down on the shift lever to go down and it did but when I let off it started coming back up.I pulled the switch to troubleshoot but as far as I can tell it checks good.I put my tester (r) to R on the switch which is the hot lead and (black) to the blue lead on the switch and when I press up on the switch it makes contact and I checked (g) on the switch it made contact also. Then I swapped the up and down relays and it still did the same thing. I pulled the switch and tried the one on motor and it works fine but when the lever switch is hooked up it (console switch) the one on the motor did the same thing.I believe it to be the control lever switch but wanted to check with someone who has experience with this. 96 johnson 115 90 deg. motor.I believe its the fastrac trim/tilt.
