Powerhead interchange

E15rccs, what years can i get a used powerhead so I can just bolt up my peripherals without a hack job. Does 9.9 make a difference? Thanks guys

I killed my block tonite. Broken thermostat housing bolt lead to head removal. That lead to broken headbolt. Twisted protruding remnants of headbolt with vice grips, and broke block, middle port headbolt. SMH.

Most of that series of 9.9 and 15 will interchange, from the mid 1970s on up to the late 1980s, maybe even later. Later ones are a bit more refined. Early ones may need some parts swapping of head, exhaust cover, etc. to facilitate electronics and water outlets.
