I started my annual end of season checks on my three outboards, 90 merc, 25 merc , 9.9 evinrude. I found milky lube in the lower of the 25 Mercury. This motor I purchased from a Merc dealer new on 01/06/2004. Still in factory warrenty. I have run approximately 24 gallons of pre mixed fuel thru this like new 2 stroke motor. Not many hours. Everything still looks like a new motor. My question is what should I ask for from a Mercury dealer repair shop. 1. a complete new lower unit, 2. repair of my lower unit. I just wonder what I will run into years down the road with this lower unit since it has been run with less than ideal lubrication , wear problems?

I would no doubt push for a new lower unit... I'm sure it can be repaired and probably last forever with proper maintenece... <br />But you've done your part but its defective...
