Pre Purchase Inspection Checklist: Ocean Runner 175

Hello out there,<br /><br />I'm in process of buying a boat with a 1997 Ocean Runner 175 but know little of it's mechanical history. <br /><br />I've jotted down a few items I think should be checked by a mechanic before I purchase (below) but was wondering if anyone out there can comment on my list and whether I forgot something important. Especially if you are knowledgeable about my particular motor and things that have a tendancy to go wrong with the Ocean Runner.<br /><br />(1) compresion (2) cylinder leakdown (3) lower unit oil for any water (4) condition of water pump (5) corosion (6) see if it can hit 5500 RPMs at top speed (7) see if it can idle down to a crawl without missing. <br /><br />Thanks,<br /><br />tomolalla

8) check the stator coils for goo dripping from them.<br /><br />9) condition of the spark plugs<br /><br />10) replace the plugs with new ones and water test the boat for at least 2 hours and then check the plugs again.<br /><br />11) any and all maintenance records<br /><br />12) motor should turn between 5800 and 6000 rpm with an average load (somebody correct me if I'm wrong)<br /><br />Good Luck!
