I WAS TOLD BY A OUTBOARD ENGINE REPAIR SHOP THAT DEEP CYCLE BATTERY WHEN USED FOR ALL STARTING AND ELECTRONICS WILL RESULT IN BURNING OUT YOUR STATER BECAUSE YOUR CONSTANTLY ATTEMPTING TO FULLY CHARGE YOUR BATTERY.

Re: PREMATURE FAILURE OF STATER

Hmmmmm....Then that would mean if you were on the water and your battery went dead and you had to get a jump to start the engine, then the stator would fail because it would be trying to start a dead battery. I might buy that on a shorted battery. Just my opinion. (darn good question lil boat.)

PS...type in lower case letters, sounds like your shouting when using upper case. :D :D

That's interesting because, I think, the stator puts out 'lectristy every time it turns, wither it's charging a battery or going to ground through the regulator. Some of the higher amp charging systems are harder on stators then the lower amp systems but I think that's because they generate more heat and melt theyselves. Like ObJ sez, interesting question.

c/6

Hooty
