Made a killing at an auction the other day, picked up 4 Johnson and 1 Evenrude pressure tanks for pocket change. 3 of them still had the old hose attached WITH the motor connectors on the end of the hose.

I know some of you have been rebuilding these tanks, and they all seem in good condition for that.

I'm looking for sources for the parts..

1. rebuild kit for primer assy, have 1 plastic and 4 metal plungers.?
2. gaskets for top of tank?
3. rebuild parts for the motor connectors?
3. what paint do you repaint with?
4. stickers for the tank sides after repaint?
5. does anybody out there still sell the twin hose? I know i can use 2 singles, but would prefer the original if available.

Thanks..

laingsoutboards.com has everything, except paint, he may have that. there are 2 kits, one for the metal button, and one for plastic.

Re: presssure tank parts?

For anyone following this thread in Canada, you can find everything at www.nymarine.ca. You can find paint, gaskets, o-rings, hose and decals there. When I checked a few weeks ago he did not have the correct hose clamps. When I asked on this board about a source for the correct clamps I was informed that BRP dealers still carry them (part # 301822), and they aren't even expensive!(see this thread).

The actual couplers are still available but are big money, $119 I think.

The smooth-sided tanks without the ridge on the top came into service for 1953. They used a metal plunger buttom from then through 1957. For 1958-on they used a plastic plunger button (these tanks were available as an OMC accessory through at least 1976, explaining why some tanks carried updated OMC graphics on the side).

they do have them, but by the time you pay duties to the states I am not sure what the final cost would be.
