Can anyone add insight to how someone would inspect a used inboard gas tank before using it?
Pressure test? If so how and can an owner do it?

I believe that the tank has been replaced from looking at the deck seam and mis-matched screws, but can't tell for sure.

I just recently bought the boat and the fuel line was hooked up to a portable tank. No information is available from the previous owner.

Any help would be appreciated.

Boat info
1979 Boston Whaler Outrage w/ a 1987 150HP Johnson

Re: Pressure check used Fuel Tank?

Not much of an answer, but up here the small boat construction regulations say a fuel tank must hold a pressure of 3PSI.

There's a thread started by Kesh about testing a built-in tank. Here it is.
