Hey Guys,

Just after I fix the lawn mower now this pressure washer is leaking oil near the muffler... Atleast I think it is. I cant find where its coming from. I took the muffler off and looked around the whole motor and cant really see where its coming from. All I know is that when I run it there is oil on the ground and on the bottom of the muffler.

I also had a carb problem that I think is solved. I cleaned the carb out but it still dies after about 30 seconds. But I soaked it and cleaned it again so hopefully it will work now... Its a 6.0hp 2300 psi washer Briggs and Strat. Pretty similar to my lawn mower just not auto choke.

Re: Pressure washer leaking oil

Dont know what type washer you got but my craftsman leaks oil. The oil from mine is coming from the seal on the bottom of the engine. I'm not going to pull the engine, remove the pump for that seal.....i just check it before i run it. NOW, if yours if pouring oil out ya might wanna fix it

I think mine is coming from the same spot... just because there is oil all around the motor... It holds oil ok I think I may just leave it like you said and fill with oil when needed.

Check your oil level first. Too much oil in the crank and a problem like that can occur. :D

My pressure washer is old and started leaking oil as well.
Cured the problem with using the "High Mileage" type motor oil. The additives in the oil stopped all the leaks that occur at the seals.

CHECK YOUR OIL LEVEL. I'm willing to bed it's too high. But not just too high, too high and thinned out with fuel. Lots of times with a carb problem theywould leak fuel into the crankcase thinning out the oil and raising the level. This will often cause oil to come out the crankcase breather while running, or find it's way past seals.
