i'm getting ready to refinish my engine, i did a lot of greasy work on the powerhead itself, it should be ok for me to pressure wash it , I figure I ask before I do anything stupid.

Re: Pressure Washing a Sea Horse

I would not pressure wash any of the electronics, and I would stay away from the carbs and filters, but besides those items I would keep the pressure down some and then wash it. One of the experts may have a valid reason to to, but I have cleaned al types of engines in the past with pressure washers and never had a problem.

On the powerhead I prefer a spray-on degreaser and a simple garden hose sprayer always pointed down and forward to prevent water from getting into the carb(s) and magneto with the motor tilted just enough to make any water that gets into the carb run out the front.

On the outside with the hood on, pressure wash away.
