The engine compartment in my boat is getting a little dirty. I am thinking about using the pressure washer. I have been pressure washing automotive engines for years but I have never tried it on a boat. Is there anything I should be concerned about?

Do not be tempted to clean out any of the holes in the bilge or you could wet the flotation foam and a pressure washer will tear the foam up.

Just curious..... where did all the dirt come from? Normally the engines are clean.

Cover the air intake since it is not an air cleaner but a silencer/flash/guard! I would use heavy zip lock bags (yes 2) over that.

It is mostly grease. That is one of the reasons I want to clean it, so I can see leaks better. I had to tighten up the V-belt the other day and got filthy while working on it.

I suggest a turbo tip if you have one, other than that, be careful to avoid the foam, vinyl, etc.

409 and dawn dish soap work wonders on grease.
