Gauge on fuel tank is not working and not sure how to repair. Is this something that can be repaired or just replace tank?
Tank is on pontoon that can be removed.

Re: Pressuried fuel tank gauge not working

If the tank is delivering gas, I would be hard pressed to crack it open to fix the float. Just carry a spare 1 or 2 gal can.

Sounds like the float needs to be replaced.

Good tanks can run from $50 to $150 from what I have seen around SW MI.

If you crack it open, I would do a complete rebuild and be done with it. Should cost under $50 to rebuild it.

Well I will shorten your search, you wont find a new one, lol. They havent made them since the late 50s.

You could find an already working one, but not a new one.

Rebuilding them is easy, let us know if you need help with this.

Is there some type of replacement tank out there?

You either rebuild your tank, buy a good pressure tank, convert your motor to a fuel pump and buy a standard tank, or live with your broken gauge.

you might get lucky and be able to open your tank to fix / replace the float. That being said I opened one and ended up having to rebuild it.

Rebuilding those pressure tanks is a fairly easy task. They are a lot more simplistic than one might assume.
