Hi Guys,
I thank you all in advance for any help in this dept. Years ago when this boat was last used - I believe I either had a problem with the needle and seat having something stuck in it, or a bad primer bulb check valve. I recently read something that the best installation for new bulb is within 18 inches from outboard, and with the arrow pointing to the sky so that the check valve uses gravity to keep shut in the primer bulb and primes up very quickly and becomes rock hard instantly. Any theories on this - ? Also what are the best brands of these bulbs? Are the quicksilver ones any good. A article once said to look for the ones with the yellow stripe band around the hose barb. One more thing - I wanted to install a clear inline 3/8 fuel filter after all of the inline components and directly before the outboard to insure no debris. Did the same thing for my ride on tractor and it worked wonders for no more debris in needle and seat - What do you think guys?
