Re: PRIMER BULB

First, welcome to iboats!

Second, lose the caps...it looks like you are YELLING!! Lot tougher to read too.

Third, if you bulb is going flat while motor is running, I'd first look to your gas tank vent for a clog.

If that doesn't work out, report back and I'm sure someone will help.

Good luck!!

Re: PRIMER BULB

Im new to boating so bear with me. The vent I think is ok, if its the same one that spills gas when I fill it.

Re: PRIMER BULB

You may simply just have an old primer bulb. There are different types of rubber used on primer bulbs. I thought I had a bad one, so I bought a brand new one, and it went flat, so I used the heavier duty one, which was the original. Do you have a seperate tank or a permanent tank? Permanent, you have to check all the vent lines, and make sure no vents are clogged. Check to see if all your fuel lines on the carbs are tight as well, and feed lines going to the tank.

I'm not sure what you were saying, but the fuel tank vent is seperate from the filler hole. You could borrow a portable tank and try running it off it and see what happens.

Its a new primer ball, with arrow towards the motor, permanent tank, the vent that spills gas when I fill it is not the same hole I put the gas in. Is there more then one vent?I just replaced all gas lines and all connections are tight, also replaced fuel pump, and had carbs cleaned .

Re: PRIMER BULB

As a starting point, I'd go along with what IBNFSHN suggests and try a separate portable tank.

For testing purposes, you could probably get away with a jerry can and a helper to hold the fuel line in the can (disconnect the fuel line where it connects to the fuel outlet likely in the motor well on the boat)while you test things out.

If it fixes the problem, then you've narrowed the problem to your fuel tank. If it doesn't, then you eliminated the tank and can move on to other trouble shooting options.

Cheers.
