I installed new wires, plugs, filters and a dealer bought mercury primer bulb. Well wouldn't you know the new primer bulb had a pin hole puncture on it. I am getting a new replacement mailed into me next week. Meanwhile, I went to Academy and bought a new Attwood brand primer bulb until I get my replacement. I noticed that I have to squeeze the bulb to get fuel before I start the motor from one day to the other. The fuel will stay in the bulb while fishing. But it will be empty the following day. Is this normal. I don't recall ever being completely empty on my old primer bulb. Does this fuel go back to the tank?

its weird that "the fuel stays in the bulb while i fish" ... after you prime the fuel pump the carbs get full with fuel... the reason why the bulb is hard is because the carb is full with fuel and the floats close the niddle not letting any more fuel to go through.....

once you start the motor, fuel pump starts pumping fuel taking some of the fuel out of the primer bulb.... im actually surprized that you dont have to prime the bulb before every start .. well i actually never tried it before, i always thought you want a full bulb, bowl and pump....

and no, the fuel doesnt go back in the tank.. you have a anti siphon valve in the rpimer bulb ... the reason why the bulb is empty because sometimes the carbs drain some of the fuel
