1987 110hp VRO (unhooked)
when i go to start the motor it runs for about 20 seconds then dies with the primer in the manual position.....when the primer is in the regular position (red lever over the primer) it starts and then revs high...like uncomfortably high. if i turn the lever so it barely is on it still runs at a very idle but will allow me to shift into gear and go.
i can here the primer engage when i push the key in.
i am thinking an air leak? is it sucking air from a crack in the lines? does that make sense?
