? Primer solenoid lever spins 360 degrees ?

Im new to outboards always had a sterdrive just got a 1992 28hp johnson model
#J28ESLENE and whould like to know if he Primer solenoid lever [the red lever] should spin 360 degrees or should therebe a stoping piont?

There should be a stopping point. Its a pretty simple component, so you should be able to take it apart and determine what's broken or worn. You can get replacement parts for it that are relatively inexpensive.

I think mine spins 360 as well and it's freshly rebuilt. Normal setting is to have the lever parallel with the solenoid body, or the lever end pointing towards the bottom of the solenoid. They leak fuel when they go bad.

What does it do? i have one on my 60hp evinrude what position should it be in.

It's a manual fuel prime. When turned to a 90 degree angle to the primer solenoid body it's feeding fuel to the carbs, also allows you to spray in fogging products through the valve stem. Nornal setting is parallel with the solenoid body or end of the lever pointing to towards the bottom of the solenoid.

when i rev the motor manualy by the butterfly to keep it running the red cap blows of like its overpressurising i already replaced this piece twice from a marine dealer yet still have the same ploblem could the crank case be overpressuring it
