1995 70 hp evinrude .motor runs fine .small amount of fuel / oil accumulates under carbs .fuel residue inside intake cover when removed. If the primer solenoid valve was leaking by during operation could that cause this symptom? No external lines leaking from fuel pump to carbs. No external leak at primer solenoid.

Re: primer solenoid valve

Ob, your fuel enrichment valve may be the culprit. But if the engine is running fine at all speeds then I doubt it is the case. Are your fuel bowls tight, are the gaskets seeping? accumalation under the carbs used to be fairly common,I wouldn't sweat that one until you have a problem.

Re: primer solenoid valve

warlord, thanks for input. all fuel bowl gakets are clean and dry.fuel/oil residue seems to be exiting from lower edge of intake cover.recently defeated vro on this motor and am now mixing 50:1 . maybe this has something to do with it as at low speeds oil is no longer being varied.

Thats it.......didnt know you did away with the VRO. Just look at any of your friends older Mercs and you'll see the same thing
