Hi guys im new to prop boats but have been boating 30+years mostly fast jet boats:joyous:

do to back problems and the love for the water im going to try my hand at fishing and grabbing.

i just pickup a 96 Tracker Pro Team 17 w/ tracker/murcury 40hp 4cyl 2 stroke.

some one had stole the prop off it so the owner said :blue:

I need to know what would be a good prop to start with ???

I would suggest a Solas Amita Or Rubex 3 blade 13" pitch as a starting point. The Tracker is 680 lbs dry weight
so in my opinion not likely to be a higher pitch.

I second the choice of a 13 pitch. The Mercury prop selector calculates that with a 13 pitch it'll do 29-30 mph at 5200-5300 rpm.

With a WOT rpm range of 5000-5500, that should work out well.

got the used prop on and all running good

boat run's 31 mph on gps and turns 5200rpm with a 13p

The Rubex is the same prop with a removable hub.
