Prob a stupid question/ Filling out dirve

I have read the manual a few times, and no i dont have a detailed manual. but i understand that to drain you pull the bottom plug and the top to vent. but from what i am reading you put the fluid back in from the bottom untill it comes out of the top, but how do you pump it in the bottom? is there something you thread into the bottom and hook a oil pump to it??? Like i said a stupid question, im sure it has been answered before.

sorry, for got, alpha one gen 2, and i do have a resivor up by the engine, also where can i find a top to the resivor? mine right now is plastic wrap held on by a hair tie

you can also get them at your local mercruiser dealer...

for the top. i'd think that'd be something that the oem would have to get too. just my wag though.

Ayuh,... You buy a Pump Kit,...

It's a plastic pump that screws into your oil bottle, with a hose on it, to a fitting that's screwed into the lowerunit...

On your's,... Pump til the oil comes out the vent, reinstall the vent screw, then pump til the resv. is nearly full...

You'll run out of the 1st qt. of oil, Just before it gets to the vent,...
I change oil bottles just before that happens, so I don't get air bubbles pumped in with the oil...

ok cool, a buddy of mine made the mistake last year of draining it, and pouring it in the top till it ran out. fried the drive preatty fast, didnt want to do that to mine
