I had my project 1979 Century 3000 (MC1 outdrive) out for the first time in over a year. Everything went really well. Two questions have arisen, however.
First, I did put new lower shift cable in. It seemed to shift fine, however when going into reverse, it seems I had to push the remote handle a bit further than before to engage reverse. The shift sounds normal, I just have to reach a little further. Does this indicate I need some adjustment, or is it ok like this?
Second, when on the water, I could see the action of the shift interrupt when coming out of gear, either forward or reverse. You can see the engine die for a second, before recovering. Normal operation. However, on muffs at home, I dont see the shift interrupt kick in. Is this normal.
thanks!
