Hi everyone, need some help please.
Removing carb from 1988 sea ray weekender 2x260hp mercruisers. Have removed the 7/16ths hold down bolts, the 9 torx screws and linkages.
Trying to lift the carb it wobbles around the center approx 1/16th inch each corner of the throttle body but will not lift off even with slight pry bar action.
Question: Are there other hold down bolts/screws that need removal.
Enclosed a picture... Many thanks -Dave

Remove the center bolt. Not poking a stick but if you dont know how to dis-assemble it , why are you doing it?
Prying is never allowed unless you want to spend $400 for a replacement

Ayuh,...... Only the 4 corner nuts hold the carb to the manifold,....

The 9 torx screws hold the carb together, top, 'n bottom,...

your attempting to disassemble the carb on the boat the way you are doing it. As Bondo mentioned, your removing the top of the carb, not the carb from the motor

4 5/16"-18 nuts (1/2" wrench) hold the base to the intake

You removed the hold down nuts, not bolts. Sometimes, especially with longer studs, if they are at a even a slight angle, the carb won't pull up easily. Use the double nut method to unscrew the studs fro the manifold. You probably only need to remove one or two in order to make the carb easy to pull up.

No prying.

You will also need to remove the choke linkage to the choke stove (heat coil) that's on the manifold.
And if you are taking the carb apart. look on the bottom, there's a hidden screw.

4 nuts on corners
choke rod on starboard side
fuel line on front
fuel vent return hose on front
throttle linkage on port side

i think that covers everything to remove the carb from the engine. as stated, the torx screws are only to remove the choke horn off the top of the carburetor. you also would need to remove the threaded 'post' in the center that the air cleaner (spark arrestor) nut threads on to. but again, if you are unfamiliar with carbs then take it to a pro. NO PRYING!!! these castings crack easily

Thanks to all for your help, Nuts Bolts sorry about that. I have rebuilt a bunch of carbs but never taken one from a boat. I don,t know why I mentioned the Torz screws I understand they are removed when lifting the air horn. My problem was that the carb had never been removed it seems that when originally installed they used some kind of goop on the gasket which was making it difficult to remove and had the impression I was leaving a procedure out. I had mentioned in the OP about "slight prying" and without slight measured targeted careful prying this would never had come off. After removal I took the air horn off, gasket and float etc and found the overall condition to be excellent with not signs of lacquer deposits or sediment so I'm going to re-install and leave it as a winter job. I jumped into this a bit too quick and hadn't checked under the distributor thinking the marina did a tune up last year to find they hadn't, it was badly corroded together with the rotor and I hope I'm going to be able to save the Ign sensor unit. Any way did appreciate your assistance.
