If you think your motor is running correctly (making all hp it should) than you can trade off top speed for planing time by reducing your prop pitch. This will also allow your motor to operate at higer RPMs, something that you may or may not want. They also make those tail-fin things to help lift the rear of the boat. Good luck!

Does the motor have power tilt and trim? Adjusting the the tilt "in" where the prop is closer to the hull will improve the planing time and then you can trim the motor out for best high speed attitude. If manual tilt, try adjusting the motor in with the stop bar, but this may affect the high speed running with the bow down too far. Have to find the right balance.

If none of this works, then prop pitch is too high or the motor has a problem, as said by previous poster.

That's a heavy boat for a 88HP motor, so if you can't get to 5,800 RPM at WOT with your average load, you should consider reducing the pitch.
