A friend bought a boat recently fitted with a 1994 Evinrude 50HP, E50RNLIC, which I beleive is a military designated motor.
Anyway the engine was starting and idling "fine", but once in the water there was no power.
So far I have checked the compression, 145psi on both cylinders.
Primer solenoid was open all the time, it had been wired with a permanent 12v supply.
Motor still has same problem after fixing primer.
I have checked everything over and noticed that the spark advance links has been repaired previously. Looking at the Solec service manual this arm should be either 2" or "2 1/2" long depending on which charging system is fitted.
How do I know if I have a 4A or 12A chaging system?
Anyone have suggestions as to what else might be causing my problem
Thanks in advance
