problem with guages

Hello all,<br /><br /> I am having a problem with mt guages. When I turn on my bow lights and the stern light my gauges loose power. if I only turn on my stern light they are fine. I have checked the connection and all seem ok. Has anybody had this problem or can maybe point me in the right direction??? Any help would be much appreciated\<br /><br />thanks

sounds like a short in the bow light to me...<br />by-pass/disconnect bow light and see if that<br />fixes problem.<br />good luck,<br />M.Y.

M.Y. could be right about the bow light but I had a similar problem and the culprit was the switch. When I pulled the knob out far enough to turn on the bow lights, everything shut off. Replaced the switch and all returned to normal operation.

I agree. Seems like 90% of all low voltage priblems are a result of poor ground.

Thanks guys..... took out all the old wiring and found a faulty ground wire.... all is good now and the volt meter actually shows that the battery is charging. Fixed two problem with one stone.. go figure.. again thanks
