Hello Fellow Boaters!
I'm having a problem with my 1989 Johnson 48spl.
Problem: It won't start right-a-way. But after a few turns of the key it will start run for 2 seconds then stall. It will do this a few times, run then stall I guess til it's somewhat warm then it will run for 1-2 min then stall. I will start it again then raise the rpm and it will stay running. Now i take it to the water launch it; starts right up leave the no wake zone push throttle up to WOT runs fine. when I got to the spot I fish I idled down to neutral then decided to go further out. So I forward the throttle and the rpm stayed just above idle, and stayed in that possition so I pushed the key/choke in and it revs up each time I choked it.
Now I'm wondering if the carbs need to be cleaned (or) rebuilt??? any help is appreciated
