problem with steering

Hi All;
I recently restored a 1989 198CLX Chapprall with a 4.3L and an Alpha one gen one drive.

Took it out for some trials, all went well except for a minor issue. When I'm cruising straight, the three spoke steering wheel is skewed about 30 degrees to the left. I straightened up the wheel so the bottem spoke is at the 6 o'clock position and the boat starts to turn to the right.

I was wondering if there was an adjustment that could be made to fix this problem.

Any help is much appreciated.

Cheers
Tom

What happens when you let go of the wheel? If it "pulls", you can adjust the trim tab on the outdrive. That is the tab above the prop.

Turn the REAR of the tab in the direction of the pull.

Thanks for the response, Dose it matter if it has power steering? I forgot to mention that in my previous post. When I let go of the wheel it would slowly pull to the right.

Thanks
Tom
