I have a 1984 35hp evinrude (model e35elcrr), and far asi know it was overheated now it won't start. I bought it for cheap, and for my dad to use and iam not an expert, but not at all novice. Goods: it turns over fine , except the wires some have ben fixed a couple bare, so i checked all connectevity, seems good. 2nd traced power back from the coils, no power to the power pack also, but i have power to the stator and charge coil and sensor but not from them.... i don't want to be the guy to change all just to find they are not the culprit. i seem to think the overheating bared wires causing shortage but it may in fact caused failure to the stator, sensor or charge coil. I have not used my voltmeter on these yet, not sure of the load rating. Just want to hook my dad up with a motor and not pour gobs of money into it, cause of economical difficulties. Please lemme know your rundown of stator related probs. Thanx
