Hello

I have rebuild an 650 3 cyl. I bought the engine in parts, so I don't know exactly how the pump has to be placed, and I don't know if there are parts missing in the fuel pump. The engine is running superbly, but the fuel pump does not work. I have used a rebuild kit for the pump, so the gaskets, membrane and the valves are new.
There have been made different fuel pumps. Does the last serie 650 have a spring inside, to push the membrane back after each 'blow' of the engine? That could be the problem that the pump does not work.

Another strange thing I can find is that the pump and the engine does not fit exactly with each other. The skrews fit with the holes in the engine, and the outer shell too, but inside, some 'walls' of the pump does not fall together with the inside of the pump.

Thanks,
Regards Hendrik

The mismatched walls is your problem. You might have some wrong parts.

I would go to mercury parts express. Type in your serial no. and area code and choose fuel pump and they will show you a blow--up and part no. and prices. Very handy site.
