Problems with Keel Guard"

I want to know about any problems any one has had using Keel Guard. I was thinking of using it in my tri-hull. I am not a big believer in "peel and stick" applications. While I do not plan to drag the boat, I was thinking it may help protect the paint from the trailer's keel rollers. Anybody used it? Had any issues?

They normally stick fairly well, but can be poorly applied. If you apply it over paint it will only stick as well as the paint does, many times when removing this type of adhesive the paint comes off with it, indicating it stuck better to the paint than the paint did to the hull.

If your hull has a sharp keel or a great deal of cuvre it can be a little more difficult to install, doing it when its warm makes it conform better.

My Keel Guard has been on for 8 years and is holding up well.
