Hi guys I have a 15ft. 90 hp merc. 1st boat Ive owned in more then 20 years.last week was my 1st. time out. and the steering felt a little stiff.so before i went out this week I greesed the fitting in the rear piston. now it seems like its stiff in one direction and has a lot of play in the outher direction. is there a correct way to greese this unit. left-right-center I have a merc. manual but it dosent cover the steering unit.
thanx bass hunter

Ayuh,... Odds are, it's corroded inside the tilt-tube...
Disassemble, clean, lube,+ reassemble...

Ayuh, it don't matter, other than you'll be turning it every which way to get it to clear everything...
