It's not too often you get to drive hull #1 of any new model boat. At a Tracker Boats demo I had the chance to briefly run Gary Parsons' new Nitro ZV21.
Now the production boats are appearing at Tracker Boats dealers.

Why would a pro get what could be considered a prototype hull? The answer is pretty simple, they use it like it was meant to be used and would quickly find both flaws and great features. The pro anglers also help to design features into specific models that will allow every angler to get more out of their boats. Pro anglers not only provide their own input into the design but also input from dealers and boat buying consumers they meet as they travel the tournament routes. If a lot of anglers say they need more rod storage, or different carpet or something else; those comments make it to the "home office" through the pro anglers.
Boat builders won't tell you how many times a new boat runs as well as designed but this new Nitro absolutely did.

Gary really liked the new boat and the 300hp Mercury Verado outboard that powers it. His son Chase had hull #1 going almost 65mph (64.3 to be exact). That's a deep "V" walleye boat, weighing in at 2,800 pounds with up to a 2,500 load capacity ripping down the lake pretty darn fast. With just one person on board, the boat delivered a 4.5 second hole shot.

The boat, as run, isn't bare bones either. It was fully dressed for tournament fishing. That includes the kicker motor, electric trolling motor, all instrumentation, fuel and gear. And that's just where Gary took it after the demo event; on the tournament trail. He loaded it up and headed to a walleye tournament in his home state of Wisconsin.
