Hi,

I picked up a non running 2003 DF115 serial # 11501F-422791. I have been looking it over to see what might be wrong with it. I did a compression test and am getting 225-230 psi on all cylinders and not hearing any noises to indicate anything internal gone wrong.

I removed the ECU ( ECM ?) to visually inspect it. On the back where the potting is, there is an area about 2" square or so where there are numerous shards of what appears to be maybe porcelain bubbling up and out of the unit. I don't suspect this is normal (duh) and there is also a small area on the plastic case that appears to be melted.

Is there a recall on this part? It has what appears to be a Mitsubishi logo on the unit. Is there somewhere I could send this out to Suzuki for an inspection and maybe a replacement if it's faulty due to manufacturer defects?

Thanks for your time.

First, there is nothing wrong by the description of the back of the ecu, that's normal....second, how do you get a manufacturers' defect out of this??? You bought a non-running as you call it unit....why??? Your compression numbers are insane....get another compression gauge and check it again....check compression, spark, and fuel....see which are missing....if you have all three then get into the timing,etc.....why you went to the ECU you must have left out of the story.

.why you went to the ECU you must have left out of the story.

Or maybe you just were in a hurry to scold me like a 5 year old rather than actually reading what I wrote. According to Suzuki, My compression #'s are good, but what would they know right?
