I bought a new proguide v16 sc in 2003 with a 40hp 2cyl, 2-stroke merc. It runs 24-26mph with one person and gear and 21-23mph with 3 people and gear. I would like a little more top end speed to near 30mph without losing too much getting out of the hole. Not sure about the prop pitch, the only markings on the prop is '48 85632 A40 11p' which I assume is a 11 pitch. A motor upgrade to 50 or 60hp is not financially viable at the moment. Would a prop change help? How about adding a hydrofoil?
