I put up a thread on this a few days ago and it seems to have disappeared. I got a lot of good feedback. Today I pulled the engine off and as I knew the transom is shot. The good news is that the glass is a full 1/4" thick! And the wood is so bad that it should come out clean. Separates from the glass easily. Need to take boat to scale to see what hull and trailer weigh to see if foam is badly waterlogged. All foam boats of age have some degree of water intrusion. A few extra pounds not going to bother me but too much will pretty much limit the usefulness of the craft.

While I am not happy about the transom - it was obviously bad and I knew that when I bought this - I am impressed with the glass! No cracks, spider webbing. Great candidate for Seacast or Nidabond. I heard 3M is no longer making Nida bond (they call it Nida Core, not to be confused with the honeycomb stuff) Will see where we go from here. If hull has excess weight I may decide to cut the side portions where floorboards are, pull out as much foam as I can get at, pour in some 4 pound foam and replace plywood deck reinforcement and reinstall floor glass. Will see..
