Hello all !
With all the helpful information on this site I have had the courage to make this junk shine ! I wanted to post a website on it so that you guys can take a look and see if you have any ideahs(pro or con) towards what I can do.

The web site you can visit is at http://home.alltel.net/jaguar25

When I get to the point of rebuilding it I am thinking of designing it differently because the current design was bad !! It exposed the wood to the transom and once it got wet it rotted it out bad and started to crack on the fiberglass on the inside.

I am thinking about building it back so that there is a box that goes across the whole back and putting the gas tanks underneath. Then right in front of that a seat much like a couch that goes from side to side. I will have two swivel seats side by side and in front of that the captains chair.

What I am most concerned with is the height of the sides ?? Is there a specific regulation that I need to follow for the sides of the boat ? The original had an aluminum bar that went all the way around and it looked like crap. Is there a good way that I can wood and fiberglass the sides up to take care of this or would it be a ton of work. Well let me know what you guys think and I would appreciate any help as I don't know the regulations or possibilities about what I am trying to do.

Thanks

If your boat restoration skills are as good as your web design skills, it ought to look great.

Thats an interesting boat, looks like it was a center console. Your best bet is to just sit and look at it and decide what you will want it to do for you, then go from there. You do want to think about weight. Replacing aluminum with fiberglass will add weight, which will work that Merc more. Definately decide what you want before you build. Good luck...

So by taking those fiberglass boxes off the back and a little different design I could be a little more ahead.

I will probably scrap the ideah of adding fiberglass to up the sides .... but does anybody know if there is a standard height for a boat ..or if I have to have rails going all the way around ?
