I have a 14'Lowe flatbottom aluminum boat. The engine is an '87 Johnson 20hp.Currently,my old prop is a 10/13 Michigan wheel aluminum. My manual says to prop the motor for 5000RPM with a light load. With just me,i turn 5030 according to my tinytach.I usually fish shallow water with a buddy and my RPM's have droped to 4950 at WOT.Do you think i should drop to a 12pitch?It is time for me to get a new prop and iboats has a sale on the Michigan ballistic SS prop that i'm thinking about buying. When going from aluminum to SS,i heard its necessary to drop a pitch,is this true?<br />Any help would be appreciated
