Prop Compatability

I have a 2000 Javelin 17 F/S Venom powered by a 2000 Johnson 115 hp outboard. The prop on the motor is a Quicksilver 13 X 18 and I am happy with the perfomance with some exception to the hole shot with a heavy load. However, I damaged the prop somewhat and a replacement is very costly. I am looking for advice on a comparable, or better stainless prop, that could replace it. The WOT RPM is 4500-5500 in book. On the water I am usually around the 5000 rpm range at full throttle. Any advice will be appreciated with regards to prop type, prop size, pricing, and web sites. I have also considered having the prop repaired. Any advice on a good online repair shop would be good. Is a repaired prop ok in the long run?

Re: Prop Compatability

The Raker is a good choice for that boat. The only other prop that I know has the same, or maybe slightly more bow lift would be the Turbo Lightning Jr. Unfortunately the don't make it anymore.

As for getting a Raker repaired, I'd make sure I send it to someone who has the right equipment to fix a Raker. Too many times I've seen Rakers come back and have lost all the bow lift. personally I'd send it, if it were mine, to Mazco.

BTW- at 5000 rpm on top the holeshot would be expected to be somewhat less than great. That motor will last longer and perform better at 5800-6000 with an average load.
