Prop Diameter Selection

I currenly have a 1993 Four Winns Horizon 190 with the 5.0l EFI Cobra engine, WOT about 4500 rpm, it has an OEM prop 391201 that iboats says is ss but it is aluminum 14 1/2" x 19 pitch. It is chewed up real bad and needs replacing. My Buddy has a 48-16990A40 Laser II ss prop that he said I could have, but it is a 13" prop, will it fit? what differences will I notice? Will any alterations need to be made?

Diameter is relatively meaningless.

Your current pitch is 19. What is the pitch of the Laser prop?

Your have an OMC drive. Is the Laser desigined for OMC drives? If it's off of most anything else, the hub won't fit...

The laser is a 19 pitch as well, I belive it came off an older Mercury outboard....I guess it is off to the boat shop for a new prop designed for the OMC... I was hoping to get a nice ss for free.
