Prop for '06 Senza 186

I'm a new owner of an '06 Senza 186 SS and took it out for the first time yesterday. It was a terrific ride and everyone aboard had a fantastic time. We tried running at various RPMs to continue breaking it in (only 13 hrs on motor) and I really have no major complaints at all. She's running a 4.3L MPI Merc with the stock 3-blade 14 1/4" diameter 21 pitch aluminum prop.If it crosses my mind in the future to change the prop to get a little more punch out of the hole, what would any of you suggest?

21 seems a bit tall for that 4.3 to push. Might want to try a 19 for holeshot. Just keep an eye on WOT RPM. Make sure your staying within you recomended allowance.

I have just the opposite, Ive got an 07 5.0 Volvo with the 19 pitch prop, it hole shots great but I need more pull up top. I was thinking of replacing the 2V carb with a 4V and installing a 21 pitch. I dont have all the RPM Data yet so I need to do more research (Wet time!)

Ok, at 55MPH WOT i'm pushing 4900 RPM, thats with a full (for me ) load of 6 people and gear 20g of gas...14.8X19p Aluminum

55mph? Wow, that seems fast for a full boat and a 4.3. Unless your hole shot is horrible, the prop seems OK to me.

Is the 55 wia GPS or the speedometer on the boat. My 208 LXi with the 5.0 mpi only gets about 53 via GPS with a 21 pitch prop.

I have a 4.3Gxi, on the Volvo 19p aluminum prop I could go 48mph (gps)
I now have a 4-blade 18p stilitto and can hit 50 (gps) thats about 55 on the speedo.
