prop for 140 Johnson/Suzuki

Anybody running this motor and what prop are you using...My dealer said they are going to use a ss/Raker prop.The boat ....Ranger 618vs 1440pds

Musky.<br /><br />Don't duplicate your thread. Just reply to your original thread and it moves to the top.<br /><br />Raker schmaker. You need to prop out your boat on the water to select the correct pitch. Your dealer should be doing that for or with you.<br /><br />Once you know the ideal pitch you can decide whether to add frills.<br /><br />Good luck. :)

Musky:<br /><br />I just put that engine on an 18'Triton Center console (1700 lbs). With me and full tank of fuel (44 gallons) the engine turns 6250RPM (which is the upper limit of operating range).<br /><br />Using 3 blade 14 x 20. You will find the props selections are more limited than on the 2 stroke bombs. The 140 uses a lower gear ratio permiting the engine to turn a larger diameter (14") than most reducing slippage.<br /><br />Go to Suzukimarine.com and look at their boat tests. You may be able to find a test with a boat similar to yours. The Johnson 140 4 stroke is the same engine as the Suziki DF140.<br /><br />The engine is great!
