I asked this question before but will word it differently because the way I asked doesn't come out clear. I have a 125 merc outboard on a 17ft rinker. Am pretty happy with performance with my aluminum props. But I would like to gain some top end speed. What ss props coming from you guys are gauranteed to give you more speed in a 21p. I realize it can change from boat to boat, but generally just wondering if there is a brand that performs better on the top end.

Unless you are in a super hot boat you won't tell the diffeence from one manufacturer to the next one. If you do its in your head.

Re: Prop for top speed?

Before a prop change refine your setup. The anti vent plate(just above the prop)
should be visable on plane. In the extreme raising the motor could net 2 to 3 mph.
Does the boat respond to up trim?
If you tell us your present prop size and max rpm and speed (gps is best)
we could tell better where your at and where you might get if possible.
Depending on your present setup the difference could be a few tenths to rarely several mph.
