I am upgrading from a Black Diamond prop 23P to a Turbo SS 24P Prop. The Black Diamond required a Flow Torq II Hub Kit, the Turbo has a built-in Hub. My question is that will any additional hardware be required to install the Turbo Prop (ie. Thrust Washer, nut, tab washer, drive adapter), or can I use the needed parts mainly the thrust washer, tab washer, and nut from the flow torq II kit. My setup is a 97 Force 120 on a Nitro 700 LX. Thanks

Re: Prop Hardware

You can use the stock original thrust washer, or call Steve at Precission and see if he can fix you up with the right washer (should be merc).
What RPM did you have with the 23P????
Which Turbo?
The Turbo1 24P will pull like most 25's and 26's.....
The Turbo will run quite high as well so I hope you can get the engine high enough off the transom to utilize the Turbo's technology.
Jackplate would be a plus here.
Keep us posted.

Re: Prop Hardware

By stock thrust washer you mean the one from the Flo Torq II hub assembly right?

I was turning 5600 at WOT trimmed out with the 23P Black Diamond (any more trim and it vents out), Anti-vent plate is 3" above pad, I do not have a jack plate yet I was thinking a 6" manual, any thoughts? I got the prop from a buddy in my club so I want to try it. It is a Turbo1, I am not sure it is perfect for my boat but hey it was cheap, I am most concerned with top end right now I can get 51MPH (GPS) but I know there is more there, I just need to decrease the wetted area (feels like a plow a bit). Thanks for your help.

Re: Prop Hardware

The OEM washer would be the one that would be used with a std hub prop. The flo-torq washer is different.
You may need to see a merc dealer or call precision.
The price may have been cheap but the Turbo1 is in no way a cheap design...in fact, it will hold at heights most 3-bld SS props won't.
I didn't know the '97 Force had the big gearcase and 15spline shaft...????

Re: Prop Hardware

Thanks for the help.

FYI, The 97 Force 120 Has the 15 Spline shaft and 4-1/4" Gear Case (at least mine does my motor has stickers on it that said it is a Tracker Engine but it is just a Force with Tracker Stickers), which should match up with the prop I bought it was a Turbo1 with the 13 1/4 " dia. and the small hub (4-1/4") I think it is for 75-150 HP motors.

So here is another question the OEM Thrust washer is Part # 75282 is this the same as the MERC thrust washer #75282A1, in other words would the correct OEM thrust washer for the 97 Force 120 be the 18-4221 sold on this website?? Thanks.
